METALLICA anuncia la edición ampliada del 30 aniversario del ‘Black Album’

METALLICA marca el 30 aniversario de su quinto álbum homónimo, también conocido como «The Black Album«, con dos lanzamientos emblemáticos, ambos a la venta el 10 de septiembre en Blackened Recordings de la banda.

«The Black Album» es uno de los discos de mayor éxito comercial y aclamado por la crítica de todos los tiempos. Su lanzamiento en 1991 no solo le dio a METALLICA su primer álbum No. 1 en no menos de 10 países, incluida una carrera de cuatro semanas en el No. 1 en los EE.UU., su serie implacable de sencillos: «Enter Sandman«, «The Unforgiven«, «Nothing Else Matters«, «Wherever I May Roam» y «Sad But True» impulsaron el ascenso de la banda a cabeza de cartel de estadios, la radio y MTV dominando el estatus de nombre familiar. En 2017, METALLICA anunció que estaba preparando versiones remasterizadas de lujo de sus álbumes «…And Justice For All» (1988) y «Metallica» (1991) y se acercó a sus fanáticos incondicionales en busca de ayuda para obtener contenido para las nuevas ediciones. Desde entonces, «…And Justice For All» ha sido reeditado por su 30 aniversario en 2018.

El LP homónimo de METALLICA en 2014 se convirtió en el primer álbum en vender 16 millones de copias desde que Nielsen SoundScan comenzó a rastrear las ventas en 1991.

«Metallica» ya fue certificado 16 veces platino el 13 de diciembre de 2012 por la RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) para envíos que excedan los 16 millones de copias en los EE.UU.

El álbum de 2009 superó el disco de 1997 de SHANIA TWAIN, «Come On Over«, como el CD más vendido de la era SoundScan.
